Breath-In, Breath-Out

“Breath-in, Breath-out” was an exploration of ecological design that reimagines the relationship between humans and more-than-human species. Centering on groundhog, this project included research into their habits and behaviors, offering a co-design opportunity with the being. My aim was to create a space that is not only functional but also in harmony with the natural world, which encourages better unity between humans and other beings.

In my process I had an extensive approach to ecological design, focusing on the importance of considering all beings and forms of life in the creative process while exploring all materials. I engaged directly with the natural habitats to see how design can build a bridge between all beings and remind us all how interconnected we all are.

An ecological language learning game

A  hand-made, wooden puzzle that its aim is to build a bridge between getting in touch with nature and learning the Sḵwxwú7mesh sníchim (Squamish) language. The game starts with making the puzzle and learning what that body organ is in Sḵwxwú7mesh sníchim lanugage, and then going outside and finding an element in nature (Fruit, Vegetable, etc) that looks like this organ.
The game is fully hand-made and designerd by me, pieces are individually cut at a wood shop.
