Nature Unfolding, PoMo Edition
Thank you for being my reminder of hope
Nature Unfolding, PoMo Edition* is a multidisciplinary project, with the aim to explore Port Moody’s ecosystem and environment. As you assemble the puzzle, you get to engage and get to know local plants and species through drawings, writings and sound.
This project invites you to take a moment and look around, to listen, to pay attention to the ecology around us and get to know who we share this beautiful land with.
The idea for this project shaped as I wanted to get more in touch with my surroundings and know the amazing more-than-human beings I occupy this land with, and I wanted to give the same expereince to the rest of my community as well.
Port Moody’s beautiful ecology exists on the ancestral and unceded homelands of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), qʼʷa:n̓ ƛʼən̓ (Kwantlen), qiqéyt (Qayqayt), and Stó:lō (Sto:lo) Peoples.
I hope next time I come back we can go for a walk and maybe you can give me some tips on how to live as impressively as you?
*This project also has a sibling called Dear Nature, Thanks for everything.
Dear Nature, thanks for coming.
